How to pick a meal plan
Start with food you enjoy. The best plan is the one you will still be following next week, so choose a style that matches how you already like to eat, then let the plan handle the details. If you have no preference, Balanced Healthy Eating and Mediterranean are easy places to start.
For fat loss, look at the Weight Loss, High-Protein or Low-Carb plans. Higher protein helps you stay full and keep muscle while eating less. If you train hard, the High-Protein Strength and Endurance Athlete plans give you more fuel.
Match the calories to you
Every plan shows its average daily calories. Your own needs depend on your size, age and how active you are, so work out your number with the free calorie calculator. If the plan is well below or above it, change portion sizes rather than skipping meals.
Make the week easier
- Read the whole week first and write one shopping list.
- Cook grains, proteins and chopped vegetables in a batch on day one.
- Plans repeat some recipes on purpose, which means less shopping and less waste.
- Eating out? Pick the closest match on the menu and carry on with the next meal.
In the Thrive Fit app, your plan shows today’s meals on the home screen, and anything you eat off-plan can be logged with a photo.
